Candidates who do not succeed in their initial attempt at the US CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam can retake it after a minimum waiting period of 30 days and also, they are permitted up to three attempts per part within a 12-month period. Both exam parts must be completed within three years from passing the first part. If a candidate fails three times within a year, they must wait a year before attempting the exam again. If they do not pass both parts within the three-year period, they must retake the parts they haven’t passed, following the attempt limits.
